Irish Independent: Is State’s nest egg plan all it’s cracked up to be?

According to IAPF CEO Jerry Moriarty, “Somebody who is a high-rate taxpayer is currently getting 40% tax relief on their pension contributions. Under these proposals they will be getting 25% relief. On the other hand, someone paying no tax will be getting a contribution from the State. We will have to look how at how it impacts on the rest of the systemshares some comment on Ireland’s upcoming pension proposals.”
