Irish Independent: Your Money: Take time out for some taxing maths

According to Marian Ryan of the best advice is to keep all your receipts. “Too many people discard important receipts for themselves or their family, and the relief cannot be claimed unless receipts are kept. Keep a shoe box into which you throw doctors’ bills, pharmacy receipts and bills for any other medical, and also dental, expenses. It will make it so much easier at the end of the year” she advises. Then, you can decide in September/October what to claim for, or have a tax expert do it for you for a fee.
