Christine Keily of Taxback.com with the following advice on e-worker tax relief “If employers decide to pay the allowance of €3.20 per workday, it would make a difference,  Over 80 working days the worker would have €256 to cover their utility expenses, regardless of expenditure. And if the worker’s heating, lighting and broadband costs are higher than €3.20 per workday, one of two things can happen: the employer may choose to cover the rest of the cost, but will have to deduct tax, or the employee can claim tax relief on the balance.”
